Huius usu, Iudaeis olim interdictum, lege de immundis animalibus; quae cum cerimonialis esset, in Nov. Test. sublata est, Iudaeis tamen hodieque superstitiose et lardo et suillâ carne abstinentibus. At apud Gentiles lardo etiam Diis litatum. Hinc Bartholin. ubi de Puerperarum Diis: Nox genitalis Dea, inquit, iuvat liberorum studium. Formula invocationis ter magnâ voce fuit repetita, et extensis brachiis.
